Duket se e ka l\u00ebn\u00eb p\u00ebr nj\u00eb \u00e7ast politik\u00ebn, p\u00ebr t\u2019u marr\u00eb me histori. Nd\u00ebr t\u00eb tjera, n\u00eb lidhje me \u201cgrek\u00ebt\u201d e Himar\u00ebs, thot\u00eb:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cN\u00eb Qeparo nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb folur kurr\u00eb greqisht, por tani, pas nj\u00eb emigracioni t\u00eb gjat\u00eb shumica e t\u00eb rinjve t\u00eb sot\u00ebm nuk din\u00eb m\u00eb shqip! Sigurisht q\u00eb kjo nuk mjafton p\u00ebr t\u00eb th\u00ebn\u00eb se k\u00ebta jan\u00eb grek\u00eb. Dh\u00ebrmiu e Himara kan\u00eb gra t\u00eb moshuara e plaka q\u00eb nuk din\u00eb shqip, por t\u00eb vdekurit i qajn\u00eb n\u00eb shqip dhe dasmat i k\u00ebndojn\u00eb po ashtu n\u00eb shqip, fjal\u00ebt e urta i din\u00eb e i tregojn\u00eb n\u00eb shqip. (&#8230;) N\u00eb 1630-n misionar\u00ebt bazilian\u00eb hap\u00ebn shkoll\u00ebn e par\u00eb shqipe n\u00eb Dh\u00ebrmi p\u00ebr t\u00eb trajnuar prift\u00ebrinjt\u00eb. Me koh\u00eb e n\u00ebn presionin turk, Himara e brendshme ku b\u00ebnin pjes\u00eb Lab\u00ebria, Kurveleshi, Lumi i Vlor\u00ebs e Dukati u b\u00eb myslimane dhe u nda nga Himara e bregdetit, q\u00eb mbeti e krishter\u00eb. Pas k\u00ebsaj, sa her\u00eb Turqia nd\u00ebrmerrte fushata ushtarake p\u00ebr nd\u00ebshkimin e himarjot\u00ebve, Himara e Dh\u00ebrmiu nuk i \u00e7onin m\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00ebt dhe pleqt\u00eb e plakat n\u00eb thell\u00ebsit\u00eb e Kurveleshit por n\u00eb Gjirit e n\u00eb Korfuz ku banonin grek\u00eb e sundonin venecian\u00ebt e ku q\u00ebndronin me muaj e me vite.<\/p>\n<p>Prandaj himarjot\u00ebt flasin greqisht si gjiritlinjt\u00eb e dh\u00ebrminjasit si korfiot\u00ebt. Himara dhe Suli ishin dy krahina autonome q\u00eb luftuan gjith\u00eb jet\u00ebn me Turqin\u00eb dhe nuk e njihnin as Greqin\u00eb e as Shqip\u00ebrin\u00eb e humbur. Himara q\u00eb nuk i paguante taksa Turqis\u00eb dhe nuk d\u00ebrgonte nizam\u00eb jetoi e izoluar dhe n\u00eb distanc\u00eb nga pjesa tjet\u00ebr e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb. K\u00ebt\u00eb distanc\u00eb e shfryt\u00ebzoi Greqia si t\u00eb p\u00ebrshtatshme t\u00eb punonte p\u00ebr ta aneksuar Himar\u00ebn, nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb q\u00eb Sulin e greqizoi gradualisht. Shkollat n\u00eb fshatrat ortodokse gjat\u00eb shekullit t\u00eb 19-t\u00eb u financuan nga fondet e Zhab\u00ebs dhe shum\u00eb bamir\u00ebs t\u00eb tjer\u00eb q\u00eb b\u00ebn\u00eb para dhe i lan\u00eb pasurit\u00eb e tyre n\u00eb bankat greke. N\u00eb k\u00ebto shkolla m\u00ebsohej greqisht. Qeverit\u00eb greke financuan sillogun vorio-epirot q\u00eb merrej \u201cme \u00e7lirimin\u201d e Vorio-Epirit.<\/p>\n<p>Ato mboll\u00ebn shum\u00eb strategji e ide p\u00ebr ta larguar Himar\u00ebn nga Shqip\u00ebria e p\u00ebr ta bashkuar me Greqin\u00eb: nj\u00eb strategji ishte t\u00eb b\u00ebnte vend ideja nd\u00ebr himarjot\u00eb se s\u2019jemi as grek\u00eb e as shqiptar\u00eb; nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr e paraqiste Himar\u00ebn si \u201ckrahin\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb lavdishme e m\u00eb heroike greke\u201d dhe sh\u00ebrbente si baz\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrligjur privilegjimin e himarjot\u00ebve n\u00eb p\u00ebrgjith\u00ebsi dhe sidomos t\u00eb njer\u00ebzve q\u00eb kan\u00eb punuar p\u00ebr politik\u00ebn e grek\u00ebzimit dhe aneksimit t\u00eb Himar\u00ebs n\u00eb ve\u00e7anti. Minoritar\u00ebt grek\u00eb q\u00eb jetojn\u00eb n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri nuk kan\u00eb g\u00ebzuar privilegje t\u00eb ve\u00e7anta n\u00eb Greqi, si\u00e7 kan\u00eb g\u00ebzuar himarjot\u00ebt, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt nga ana tjet\u00ebr kan\u00eb jetuar t\u00eb l\u00ebn\u00eb m\u00ebnjan\u00eb e pa kujdes nga qeverit\u00eb e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb n\u00eb shum\u00eb periudha.
